PLL: Dragons smashed; a charge towards the Championship!

On Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the 5th round of the Polish Lacrosse League (PLL) with an almost a hundred spectators, the Poznan Hussars beat the Krakow Dragons overwhelmingly. This was the Hussars 5th consecutive win in the PLL.

The Dragons from Krakow, reinforced by several Ravens from Lodz, arrived in western Poland where the claimants to the title of Champion, the Poznan Hussars, were already waiting. The game took place in the MOS stadium on ul. Gdanska 1.

The referees, Mateusz Rydzak oraz Daniel Węgrzyk, blew the starting whistle at 3:30pm. The game was a lob-sided spectacle, this was evident after the first quarter, where players came off the field with score 9:0 for the Hussars. The Greaterpoland offensive presented themselves very well, which played the ball nicely and mercilessly barraged the rivals goal.

Despite the Dragons' goalie's good form, he wasn't able to stop the massive assault, which minute after minute further demoralized the rivals. The hosts, who were cheered on by the Hussars Ladies and attending fans, were only getting started.
The Hussars scored a total of 27 goals throughout the game, whereas the Dragons scored only twice.

We sincerely thank everyone who decided to come out to the Saturday afternoon game, the referees as well as the rivals!
