Poznan Hussars visit K. Potocka High School #5

The Hussars and Hussars Ladies aren’t lazy! June 1st meant another visit in another school. We led workshops at Klaudia Potocka High School in Poznan as part of the ongoing sports day on the nearby soccer/football field.

At exactly 9am, attending Hussars: Paweł Hamrol, Marcin Basiński, Artur Wieszczeczyński and Ladies- Miłka Matkowska, Jagoda Gracz, Ania Tomaszewska, Magda Żurawik, Ola Wilk, Iga Sobolewska, Dagmara Nowak met on the field on 10 Zmartwychwstańców Street. The organizers of this event were two of the school’s students - Jagoda Gracz and Ania Tomaszewska.

Each side gave a separate presentation but without a doubt it was the girls of Poznan’s Hussaria who were the center of attention. The school’s female students, under Ladies’ supervision, learned the basics of the game like throwing, catching and scooping ground balls with great enthusiasm. They caught on surprisingly quickly and got familiar with the gear. Many of the girls asked about practice times after the presentation and short workshop, and declared their attendance on the upcoming ones.
We’re counting on an influx of new and young players from High School #5. We’re also hoping that this school will become the second Poznan Hussars ‘stable’ after GeoLax.
We sincerely thank the directors and physical education teachers for the possibility of conducting these workshops and hence the popularisation of lacrosse.
