Germany: round 2 of the German League

We set out to the German capital without several of our valuable players. Grzegorz Irla, Tomasz Brudlo, Szymon Kowalewski, Michal Trzaska, Marcin Basinski and Maciej Pacanowski – all of them couldn’t go because of injuries sustained in a previous match. However we had support from Jan Rydzak who normally plays for Kosynierzy Wroclaw. Two very difficult games were awaiting us in the heart of Germany.

The first game against Victoria started off with testing our opponent’s strength, but the first quarter ended with a score 3:1 for Poznan. The next period was dominated by the guests. We were able to find weak points in Victoria’s strategy which allowed us to score some more goals. Another victory in the German League became a fact! We played in BHC’s jerseys as both the Hussars and Victoria had white uniforms.

Victoria Berlin 4 - 13 Poznań Hussars

BHC was unquestionably the leader after the first round. Without any trouble they win every game. Next in line: Poznan Hussars. The first strikes of the dainty German attackmen showed us that it wouldn’t be a pleasant game. They were better than us in every aspect of the game. Deadly fast-breaks, solid defense and better skills made a  huge impression on us. We scored only twice; the scorers for the Hussars were Janek Rydzak and Slawek “Silo” Izydorek. The Germans scored twenty goals  without any mercy.

BHC 20 - 2 Poznań Hussars

The third round will take place also in Berlin on the 14^th of November. We have scheduled games against the Dresden Braves and BHC II. We know we can beat our rivals so it’ll be a hell of a battle for third place!
